Point Bolingbroke and Ardrossan whale stranding and necropsy reports from 2013 and 2014
Dear South Australian Museum FoI Officer,
I am writing to request access to reports held by the SA Museum, under the Freedom of Information Act 1991. I wish to receive digital copies of cetacean stranding event and necropsy reports associated with the following two incidents: the stranding of a southern right whale carcass at Point Bolingbroke, Eyre Peninsula (August 2013) and the stranding of a pod of female sperm whales near Ardrossan, Yorke Peninsula (December 2014).
Yours sincerely,
Dan Monceaux

Dear Ms Zilio,
Thanks for your reply to my request made under the Freedom of Information Act 1991 and the attachments you included.
My understanding is that I now need to pay a fee in order to start the application process, however I note that you have provided me with a form specific to lodging an Internal Review.
My understanding is that an FoI request first requires a fee paid, then leads to a determination. Then, should I not be satisfied with the decision, I can request an internal review.
Could you please provide me with an invoice and payment instructions should you now require a fee paid to initiate the FoI process?
Many thanks,
Dan Monceaux
Dear Mr Monceaux
Thank you for your email relating to the payment of a fee in order to
process your Freedom of Information request (001/2016). As agency we can
make the decision to waive the fee which I have applied to your request.
You will be receiving a determination in the very near future which
formally will state that the fee has been waived.
We like to provide people with the internal review process at all stages
to ensure people are aware of their rights.
Your sincerely

This is the first time I've been offered a fee waiver at time of lodgement by a South Australian department or agency.
I also note that this appears to be the first FoI request that the South Australian Museum has received this year (judging by the allocated request number).
