Non-government health expenditure for 2019-20

The request was successful.

Dear Australian Institute of Health and Welfare,

The AIHW's Health Expenditure Australia 2019-20 report, noted Australia’s health expenditure being $202.5 billion with around 70 percent funded by governments and 30 percent by non-government entities (individuals, private health insurers and injury compensation insurers) and figures being:

$86.4 billion by the Australian Government
$56.2 billion by the state and territory governments
$59.9 billion by non-government entities.

If possible, please treat this as an informal or administrative request. Otherwise, please treat this as a formal request for documents under the Freedom of Information Act.

I am requesting documents that detail the separate amounts of funding by non-government entities in relation to the aforementioned 2019-20 report. The amount funded by:
1. private health insurers
2. injury compensation insurers
3. individuals

The total of these 3 figures will amount to $59.9 billion.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

Julie Middleton
