Dear Mr Farley
We refer to your request for access to Council records. We note you have
submitted an informal request through a third party platform.
Public access to a NSW Government Agency records (including a Local
Government Agency) is legislated by the Government Information (Public
Access) Act 2009 (the GIPA Act) and the Government Information (Public
Access) Regulations 2018 (the GIPA Regulations).
Section 8 of the GIPA Act provides the obligations in relation to informal
requests. Kindy note that section 8(3) provides that an agency cannot be
required to disclose government information pursuant to an informal
request and cannot be required to consider an informal request for
government information.
In light of the above, Campbelltown City Council will not accept informal
requests for access to records submitted through third party platforms.
Should you wish to make an informal request to access Council records you
will need to lodge your request directly with Campbelltown City Council.
Please visit our website to utilise our online request forms or to
download a PDF version of the form that can be printed if you prefer paper
format. We have provided a link below that will take you directly to our
webpage.
