Mefloquine and Tafenoquine drug trials involving ADF personnel

Dear Australian Defence Human Research Ethics Committee,

I am requesting the following information under the FOI Act:

1. The date and location of all trials involving ADF personnel and the anti-malaria drugs mefloquine and tafenoquine.
2. The number of personnel involved in each trial and the average duration of drug exposure.
3. The primary investigator named on the ADHREC proposal request for each of the above trials.
4. Any financial or in-kind contribution made to these trials by the drug manufacturers Hoffman La-Roche and/or Glaxo SmithCline Beecham.

I am writing to request an internal review of Australian Defence Human Research Ethics Committee's handling of my FOI request 'Mefloquine and Tafenoquine drug trials involving ADF personnel'.

I am unclear why I have not received a response to this request. Please can you identify why this information has not been forthcoming?

Good morning Ms Quinn,

Thank you for your email below, the attached response was sent to you on
19 November 2015, advising that your request was not considered valid.
The email also noted that the Office of Joint Health, would be happy to
assist you outside of the FOI Act if you desired.

After receiving your email below, it appears that the response was sent
to the incorrect right to know address. Unfortunately, I did not
receive a bounce back or an email to advise that the address was
incorrect to which I could follow up.

Grateful if you could review the attached email and the above advice and
advise whether you wish to proceed with a new formal request or are
happy to make direct contact with the Office of Joint Health for them to
assist you.
