We're waiting for Grace to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Reserve Bank of Australia,

Specifically any briefing notes made in preparation for the meetings, any summaries of the topics discussed, which staff from Meriton are generally met with, any internal discussion of the frequency of the meetings and/or alternative real estate developers that could fulfil the same role, and the details of any meetings with Meriton that predate the publication of the Governors calendar.

Yours faithfully,

James Hobbins

FOI, Reserve Bank of Australia

Dear Grace/James,

In terms of the FOI Act 1982, I confirm receipt of your request below and advise that processing of it commenced on 28 April 2023.

Please be advised that, consistent with the provisions of the Information Publication Scheme, the Bank’s policy is to release all documents provided to applicants under the FOI Act 1982 on the Bank’s FOI disclosure log close to the same time they are provided to the applicant. The publication of any FOI related documents on our website will also be notified to the Bank’s RSS feed subscriber list.

Also please note that in the current environment, we intend to redact (in terms of section 22) the names and/or identifying material of junior officers (below Deputy Head of Department level) and email and phone contact details for all staff from any documents designated for release in relation to your request. If you have any issues with this intention, please let me know.

FOI, Reserve Bank of Australia

Dear Grace/James,

I refer to your request seeking ‘any briefing notes made in preparation
for the meetings, any summaries of the topics discussed, which staff from
Meriton are generally met with, any internal discussion of the frequency
of the meetings and/or alternative real estate developers that could
fulfil the same role, and the details of any meetings with Meriton that
predate the publication of the Governors calendar’.

We conducted a search of our records and consulted the Governor’s Office
but could find no documents about any of the issues in your question.

Accordingly, there are no documents relevant to your request.

Although there are no documents in existence in relation to your request,
the FOI Act regards this answer to you as an ‘access refusal decision’.
It further requires us to advise you that you have rights to review of the
decision if you are unsatisfied with it. Please note that a request for
review in this situation cannot change the fact that there are no
documents relating to your request.

In the event you are unsatisfied, the Office of the Australian Information
Commissioner ([1]OAIC) recommends approaching us in the first instance via
email ([2][RBA request email]) to request an internal review. You also have the
option of approaching the OAIC directly to seek an Information
Commissioner review of the decision. However, the OAIC would be likely to
refer you back to us before considering whether to conduct a review.

Yours sincerely

Dear FOI,

Thanks for your swift reply. Can I tweak the request to any documents that mention the world "Meriton", but limit it to just over the past 12 months?

Thanks!
