Dear Shirley Humphris

Thank you for your request of 26 June 2024, made under the Freedom of
Information Act 1982 (FOI Act), for copies of the following documents held
by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA):

Scope:

* documents showing evidence of claims of cuddle therapy or crystal
therapy over the 2023/4 financial year. Please include number of
claims if any and cost.

Unless you advise otherwise, we will take it that you agree to the middle
and surnames and contact details of NDIA staff being excluded from the
scope of your request (that is, the information will be treated as
irrelevant).

Processing timeframes
A 30-day statutory period for processing your request commenced from 27
June 2024, in accordance with section 15(5)(b) of the FOI Act. Therefore
the due date for a decision on access is 26 July 2024.

As I have only recently been allocated your matter, it is unlikely I will
be able to complete my decision by the legislated due date. The effect of
this is that your application will likely be a deemed refusal. We are
obligated to continue processing your request and provide you with a
decision on access however the effect of a deemed refusal means you will
loose your review rights on any decision on access made.

To avoid your application going deemed and to preserve your review rights,
I request you agree to a 30-day extension to the processing time under
section 15AA of the FOI Act making the due date 26 August 2024 or before.
I will endeavour to manage this request as soon as is practicable but
would appreciate the full 30 day extension as provided for under the Act.

As I need your agreement in writing for it to be valid under the Act, I
ask you respond as soon as possible or prior to the due date of 26 July
2024 and confirm if you are agreeable to the extension.

This period may be extended if we need to consult with third parties or
for other reasons. We will advise you if this happens.

Charges
We may apply a processing charge to your request and will advise you as
soon as practicable if a charge is payable.

Disclosure Log
Information release under the FOI Act may be published on the NIDA’s
disclosure log located on our website, subject to certain exceptions.
If you have any concerns about the publication of information you have
requested, please contact us.

Further help
Please contact us at [1][NDIA request email] if you have any questions or need
help.
