Interactive Panel availabilty

Magzhan made this Freedom of Information request to Department of Education

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

We're waiting for Magzhan to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Department of Education,

I have an inquiry about the ratio of availability of interactive technologies per class.

1. How many interactive panels (smart panels, smart boards, flat panels, interactive boards etc) are available in schools in Australia?
2. How do teachers and educators use them during the lectures? Are they only used as projectors to display pictures and videos?
3. Is any interactive content available for students so they can truly interact with the piece of electronics?
4. How is the curriculum-aligned content presented in everyday usage of those panels.

Thanks in advance

Yours faithfully,
Magzhan

DESE - FOI,

OFFICIAL
Dear Magzhan

Thank you for your enquiry, which you sent to the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment (the department).

I am advised that the department does not hold the information you have sought access to because the responsibility for the day-to-day running of schools, including the provision of interactive panels and the decisions of teachers in relation to how they use these during class, is the responsibility of state and territory education authorities, non-government school authorities, individual schools and teachers. Accordingly, you may wish to direct your query to these bodies.

Noting the above, the department will not take any further action in relation to your query unless you advise us otherwise by close of business Friday 30 July 2021.

Kind regards,

Freedom of Information Team
Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment
