Dear Department of Home Affairs,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Department of Home Affairs's handling of my FOI request 'Incoming Government Briefs'.

My application has not had reasonable searches conducted by the decision maker and the decision maker has not shown how they have considered whether the redactions in the publicly available document are still relevant, particularly those which rely on a public interest test.

I request that this decision be reviewed by another decision maker.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.righttoknow.org.au/request/i...

Dear JH

I refer to your request for an internal review of FOI request FA 22/07/01317. I am the case officer for your review.

I have a question about this part of your review request:

My application has not had reasonable searches conducted by the decision maker...

Can I clarify what you mean by this? Are you stating that the document identified as falling within scope - i.e. the documents published on the disclosure log in redacted form - are not the documents to which you sought access, or that there are further documents that the Department has not identified?

Is it your view, therefore, that the Department should review its searches or conduct further searches for different/further documents, which you consider would be within scope? If so, could you advise what those documents are?

Regards,

Claire
