The date range is for documents created between 1 November 2019 to 29 May
2020, inclusive.
The FOI team received your request in the FOI inbox on 9 June 2020 and the
30 day statutory period for processing your request commenced from the day
after that date.
You should therefore expect a decision from us by 10 July 2020.
Due to working arrangements surrounding COVID-19 and the limitations on
coordination, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner has
suggested departments seek agreement with the FOI applicant for an
extension under section 15AA of the FOI Act.
We will advise you if we need an extension of time to process your
request.
We may seek a further extension if we need to consult third parties,
impose a charge or for other reasons.
If the decision is made to impose charges in relation to your request, you
will be notified as soon as possible, before we process any requested
documents or impose a final charge.
Please note that information released under the FOI Act may later be
published online on our disclosure log, subject to certain exceptions.

be unreasonable.)

shortage of resources the National Archives of Australia (National
Archives) will not be able to finalise your request by the original
deadline 10 July 2020.
The National Archives seeks your agreement under section 15AA of the FOI
Act to extend the timeframe for the processing of your request by 14 days
from the original deadline. The new due date of your request would be
Friday 24 July 2020.

I am following up from my previous email dated 9 July 2020 seeking an
extension under section 15AA.
The original deadline of 10 July 2020 has lapsed however we are still
processing this request.
Can you please confirm by COB 17 July 2020 that you agree to the request
for extension to Friday 24 July 2020.
If you do not confirm or agree to the extension by this date then we may
seek an extension with the Office of the Australian Information
Commissioner under section 15AC.

In promoting the objectives of the FOI Act, the National Archives’
intention is to finalise this request at a later date, after we have

This is a bullshit delay tactic - who cares about whether they agree or disagree to an extension - a non answer would clearly mean they agree because people have other things to do than FOI things all day.
