Dear Mr Randle
Extension of time application under s 15AB
On 7 June 2018, Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (the
Department) applied for further time to make a decision on your FOI
request of 24 February 2018.
This application was on the basis that the processing period is
insufficient to deal adequately with your request, because it is complex.
The Department has advised the OAIC that the processing time has already
been extended by agreement under s 15AA of the FOI Act to 7 June 2018.
Decision
As a delegate of the Information Commissioner, I am authorised to make
decisions on applications for extensions of time under s 15AB of the FOI
Act.
I have decided to grant the Department an extension of time to process
your request to 22 June 2018. This decision has been made under s 15AB(2)
of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth).
By granting further time it is anticipated that the Department will
provide a well-reasoned and better managed decision.

If you have any questions regarding this email please contact me on 02
