Good afternoon John Smith
Two documents have been found to be relevant to the scope of your FOI
request and we would like to give you the option of considering whether
you might agree to the Department releasing the documents to you via an
administrative release rather than through the formal FOI process.
Information regarding administrative access to documents can be found on
the Office of the Information Commissioner (OAIC) website - link below.
[1]Administrative access - Home (oaic.gov.au)
A brief overview is that an agency may, with the agreement of the
applicant, provide administrative access outside the formal FOI Act
process. This is an informal way of providing information or documents.
Please note that no review rights exist when administrative access has
been undertaken as it is an informal process. Also note that, with either
option, we cannot provide the documents to you through the Right to Know
platform because we do not consider the documents suitable for publication
on a website.
If you are happy for your request to be processed administratively, please
advise us by email that you agree to withdraw your FOI request and have
the documents released to you administratively. If you do not agree to an
administrative release, your request will be processed formally under the
FOI Act.
Please respond via email by COB Wednesday 25 January 2023, and don’t
hesitate to contact me if you require any further information or if you
would like to discuss this email.
Kind regards
Erin
