Dear Attorney-General's Department,
I hereby request, under the Freedom of Information Act (1982),
copies of the following documents:
(a) All documents, invoices/quotes and emails pertaining to the determination of scope and cost relating to Part A of the completed freedom of information request entitled "Classification Database and RC classified documents" first submitted on 17 September 2012, and all subsequent variations of that request;
(b) Documents pertaining to the process used by freedom of information request personnel at the AGD for:
(i) determining scope of a request
(ii) quantifying cost of completing a request
I also make the application that all costs for the processing of
this request be waived on the grounds that the release of this
information is in the public interest.
If the FOI officer requires documentation regarding the request in question, I can provide all email correspondence from Stuart Plowman up to 30 November, 2012.

I refer to your request for access to documents relating to the process used by the Attorney-General's Department freedom of information section personnel under the Freedom of Information Act 1982. I have taken your request to be for:
(a) All documents, invoices/quotes and emails pertaining to the
determination of scope and cost relating to Part A of the completed
freedom of information request entitled "Classification Database
and RC classified documents" first submitted on 17 September 2012,
and all subsequent variations of that request;
(b) Documents pertaining to the process used by freedom of
information request personnel at the AGD for:

(ii) quantifying cost of completing a request
We received your request on 1 July 2013 and the 30 day statutory period for processing your request commenced from the day after that date. You should therefore expect a decision from us by 31 July 2013. The period of 30 days may be extended if we need to consult third parties or for other reasons. We will advise you if this happens.

To whom it may concern,
I note that Part B of this request has not been fulfilled, and instead I have been linked to the Freedom of Information Act and two OAIC resources.
Am I to understand that the AGD has no specific documents pertaining to processes for determining scope or quantifying cost beyond those items linked? If this is the case, that part of the request should have been rejected on the grounds of no such documents existing.
I look forward to your clarification.
