Dear Jillian,
Thank you for your email, which was received by the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department (the department) Freedom of Information (FOI) team on 31 July 2024.
We note that you have previously requested a similar range of documents regarding the Queen of Australia. In response to that request, we provided links to publicly available documents regarding the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
A link to your previous request is available here: https://www.righttoknow.org.au/request/c...
If providing links to publicly available documents regarding the Coronation of King Charles III in May last year would satisfy this latest request, please let us know.
Kind regards,

OFFICIAL
Dear AGD FOI Requests,
Thank you, the evidence of the Coronation of King Charles III, King of the United Kingdom and Head of the Commonwealth is not the information we seek.
Similar to my previous request only that we seek documentation of the coronation of "King of Australia", as this "entity" appears to be the "King" on documents that have received "Royal Assent" since King Charles III took the thrown in the sovereignty of the United Kingdom.
When Royal Assent is given to a Bill within the Commonwealth of Australia to become an Act, for eg Western Australian Local Government Amendment Act 2023, 18 May 2023 "...in the name and on behalf of The King to the Bill..".
Is that the King in the sovereignty of the United Kingdom, pursuant to the Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act 1900 or the "King of Australia" created by another instrument. That document/instrument we request.
Regards,
Jillian

Dear AGD FOI Requests,
Thank you.
Are you confirming there are no documents or instruments to evidence the creation of the title "King of Australia"?
In my previous request, it was stated "In 1973, Queen Elizabeth II signed her assent to the Royal Styles and Titles Act 1973, officially changing her title to Queen of Australia."
Has there not been a similar process to create the title "King of Australia", and if so I seek documented evidence of that event, please.
Jillian,
Respectfully, without waiver of inherent rights under the Commonwealth of Australia, established 1900.
OFFICIAL
Dear Jillian
We again reiterate that we are unable to perform legal research on your behalf.
As we appear unable to help you in regards to your original request, we will be taking no further action at this point in time.

Dear AGD FOI Requests,
Are you confirming there is no document or instrument that has created the title "King of Australia"?
I'm not requesting any research, only if such a document exists, the purpose of the FOI process.
Jillian,
Respectfully, without waiver of inherent rights under the Commonwealth of Australia, established 1900.
OFFICIAL
Dear Jillian
The purpose of the FOI Act is not to establish the existence or non-existence of documents, but we do appreciate that this may be a motivating factor for many FOI applicants.
As a gesture of goodwill and in order to assist you with your inquiries, we have identified a document published publicly on the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet website, which proclaims King Charles III the King of Australia.
The Proclamation is available here: https://www.pmc.gov.au/sites/default/fil...
We respectfully ask that any additional requests for access to documents held by this department are submitted as new FOI requests.
Kind regards,

Dear AGD FOI Requests,
Hilarious. Gesture of goodwill? A "proclamation" nothing more than an announcement, and autographed by agents who haven't even used their full legal names, nor qualification of anything Commonwealth or under the Crown.
Words fail me, hilarious.
