Copy of Delegations
Dear Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads,
I would like copies of the delegations provided by the Transport Minister to the QLD Police Service in relation to the enforcement of the Transport Act with respect to alleged speeding offences and vehicle registration offences including the third party insurance provisions. ,
I would like copies of the delegations provided by the Transport Minister to the QLD Police Service in relation to pro active policing of public roads and road users via air, without any offences having being committed, actively surveilling, recording and following roads users going about their business, following them to their homes, simply following them at all.
Yours faithfully,
QLD Resident
Good morning Sam
Thank you for your enquiry to the Department of Transport and Main Roads (department) about requesting access to delegations provided to the Queensland Police Service.
You may apply for documents held by this department by making an application under the Right to Information legislation in Queensland, the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) (the RTI Act).
If you would like to make an application, you can apply and pay online at https://www.smartservice.qld.gov.au/serv...
The application fee is $53.90.
Whilst the RTI Act is intended to provide a right of access to information held by government, this right of access is subject to the grounds for refusal which include public interest considerations. What this means is that whilst the department meets the object of the RTI Act and provides access to information/documents wherever possible, it does not guarantee access to all or any parts of the relevant documents. Please bear in mind that if you are requesting access to documents that contain information relating to a third party (such as the address of the current registered operator of a vehicle), access may not be granted. In situations where the proposed release of the requested documents would be considered to be of concern to another person or entity, consultation with that person would be required under the RTI Act.
Where an application will take more than five hours to finalise, processing charges are applicable at the current rate of $8.35 per 15 minutes. Please note that the department will correspond with you with an estimate of any applicable charges before finalising your application.
Further general information about Right to Information is available on the department's website http://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/About-us/Right... or on the Queensland government website http://www.qld.gov.au/about/rights-accou....
If you have any questions about applying for documents or you have any questions about the RTI process, you can contact this office on 07 3066 7108 quoting reference 220714104448hza.
I hope this reply is of assistance to you.
Kind regards
Danielle
