Contractor Expenditure Statistics
Dear Department of Health,
This is informal / administrative FOI request in nature -
Would you have any statistics about contractor financial expenditure from previous and current financial years and what type of aggregates and non-aggregates are available?
Is there some type of schema or any document that describes how the statistics are done for contractor expenditure e.g. vs full time employee / hiring expenditure.
I'm also interested on what time period/s are being tracked for these kind of statistics to assists on writing correct requests. Thank you!

Good morning MissAnonymous,
I am writing to notify you that on 24 July 2024 the Department of Health
and Aged Care (the department) received your request for access to
documents below.
A request for access to documents under the Freedom of Information Act
1982 (the FOI Act) must provide sufficient information as is reasonably
necessary to enable a responsible officer in the department to identify

The Department is providing you with a reasonable opportunity to take
steps to provide sufficient information that would enable the department
to identify the documents you are seeking access to, and to submit a
request that is valid for the purposes of section 15 of the FOI Act.
Should you wish to make a FOI request to the department you will need to
provide specific information as is reasonably necessary to enable a
responsible officer in the department to identify the documents you are
seeking access to in writing.

It appears your questions are more of a general enquiry to the department

Timeframes
As this is not currently a valid request, the statutory processing
timeframes have not commenced.
The consultation period during which you may revise the scope of your
request is 14 days from the date of this email. If the department does not
hear from you before the end of the 14-day consultation period, your
request will be regarded as an invalid request and no further action will
be taken on it by the department.

The department is required to provide assistance and consultation and OAIC maintains set of guidelines
I also dispute the meaning that it is unclear what I am looking for -
The other departments have had no problems on understanding what I am seeking.

On 24 July 2024 you submitted an enquiry with the FOI team for information
to assist you in lodging a formal FOI request.
The department commenced consultation with you on this same day to assist
you in providing a valid FOI request. On 1 August 2024 the department
provided you with the link to our Annual Reports in hope this would assist
you with your original enquiry.
To date the department has not received a valid FOI request from yourself,
meaning we have made no decision on access resulting in no internal review
rights being afforded.
As we have not received a valid FOI request from you, we cannot provide a
decision on access at this point.
The department takes our FOI responsibilities very seriously, and if you
would like to make a formal FOI request for documents related to
contractor financial expenditure, we will process it if valid.
To make a formal request you will need to provide specifics as to which
documents you are seeking access to. The FOI Act does not provide a
