Dear Department of Industry, Innovation and Science,
I am writing with regard to two matters.
1) I am seeking confirmation of receipt of this FOI request, thank you.
2) I am clarifying that the leave approvals requested refer to formally approved time periods of absence only. An extract of a list of date ranges will suffice - copies of documents or correspondence are not required.
Kind regards,
Denis Jakota

Dear Sasha,
Please exclude the newly discovered large attachments and all other attachments that have anything to do with third parties other than masschallenge.
Also, if an email authored by the facilitator only deals with a matter to do with a third party then please redact the entire email message, only leaving the date/time visible.
However, if an email message authored by the facilitator only mentions a third party in passing then please redact only the part to do with the third party.
That should considerably minimise the request. Please let me know.
Kind regards,
Denis Jakota
Dear Sasha,
In my adjustment earlier today I said 'authored by the facilitator'. I realise that third party documents may have been sent to the facilitator so I have updated my amendment below. I have also made sure to include APS staff/Facilitator names as per original request.

Why did you apply for an OAIC extension when I have excluded the newfound attachments?
Will you provide your correspondence with the OAIC so that the public can see the grounds on which you sought the 30 day extension, or should I rely on the FOI Act to request this?
Are you intending to use the 30 additional days before releasing the documents?
When can the public expect these documents?
Denis

Dear Freedom of Information,
This FOI request was for "all periods of leave approved" rather than "requested leave dates" as listed on the last page of 66860 Combined Documents AR.pdf.
Please attest that each time-period provided was derived from a document in existence that contains the express leave approval by an authorised department officer.
If it needs saying, general niceties such as "have a great trip!" or "you'll have to let us know how it goes when you are back!" do not constitute leave approval by any standard.
Kind regards,
Denis Jakota
Dear Department of Industry, Innovation and Science,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Department of Industry, Innovation and Science's handling of my FOI request 'Contractor correspondence [Name Removed at the request of the Department]'.
The redaction under s47C in relation to the email by [Name Hidden] on Friday, 15 June 2018 at 2:00 PM are invalid as deliberative processes do not apply for contractor business that is conducted during leave periods and unrelated to Department matters.
RE: s22, s47G, s47F
The contractor business is cited in the original request (relevant) and widely known (publicly advertised), for example:
