We refer to your freedom of information (FOI) request to the Commonwealth
Department of Education, Skills and Employment (the department) seeking
access to the following:

I need the contact email addresses of all non-government schools in Australia.

We have been advised by the relevant business area that the department
does not hold a document containing the contact email address of all
non-government schools in Australia, and that much of this information is
publicly available. For your information, a list of all Australian
non-government schools can be found using the ‘School search’ function on
the Australian Schools List website maintained by the Australian
Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA), and is available
at: [1]https://asl.acara.edu.au/School-Search. We note that this search
function allows schools to be filtered to non-Government schools. This
list also contains a link to the MySchool webpage for each non-government
school, which in turn contains a link to that individual school’s website.
Many of these school websites include the contact email addresses of the
relevant school.

We also note that we have been advised that schools must be registered
with the respective school registration authority in each state or
territory, and that ACARA’s Australian Schools List has been compiled with
the information provided to it by these school registration authorities.
Therefore, if you wish to make an FOI request noting the already publicly
available information, we suggest directing your request to the relevant
state or territory school registration authority.

Accordingly, as the information you are seeking is publicly available,
please let us know whether you wish to continue with your FOI request made
to the department by COB Friday 10 September 2021. If we do not hear from
you by this date, we will treat your request as withdrawn and will not
take any further action in relation to your FOI request.
