For the purposes of paragraph 15(5)(a) of the FOI Act, I acknowledge
receipt of your email, below, received on 7 May 2021 setting out your FOI
request to the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations (ORIC).
Our reference for this matter is No. MS01 of 2021 (or MS01/2021). Please

we can better address any queries you may have.
Timeframe for receiving your decision
We received your request on 7 May 2021 and the 30 day statutory period for
processing your request commenced from the day after that date. As the 30
day period falls on Sunday, 6 June 2021, the period is extended to the
next day in accordance with section 36(2) of the Acts Interpretation Act
1901. Consequently, you should expect a decision from us by Monday, 7 June
2021. The period of 30 days may be extended in certain circumstances. We
will advise you if there is any extension of time.
Charges
Agencies may decide that an applicant is liable to pay a charge in respect
of a request for access to documents. If ORIC decides that you are liable
to pay a charge, we will send you a preliminary assessment of the charge
as soon as possible.
Publication of documents
Please note that information released under the FOI Act may later be
published online on our disclosure log, which is accessible at
