Dear Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority,

Under the Freedom of Information Act 1982, I am writing to seek correspondence between the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority and the Australian Football League. My requests concern information relating to the suspected use of banned supplements among any AFL players excluding Essendon, between and inclusive of February 2012 and February 2013.

Supplements to be included are the following:

1. Peptide Thymosin beta 4

2. Hexarelin

3. TA-65

Freedom of Information Request no. 2016/57

 

I refer to your request for access to documents relating to correspondence
between ASADA and the AFL under the Freedom of Information Act 1982. I
have taken your request to be for:

 

Correspondence between the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority and the
Australian Football League relating to the suspected use of the banned
supplements Peptide Thymosin beta 4, Hexarelin and TA-65 among any AFL
players (excluding the Essendon Football Club) between 1 February 2012 and
28 February 2013 (inclusive).

 

We received your request on Thursday 25 February 2016 and the 30 day
statutory period for processing your request commenced from the day after
that date. You should therefore expect a decision from us by Monday 29
March 2016. The period of 30 days may be extended if we need to consult
third parties, impose a charge or for other reasons. We will advise you if
this happens.

 

You will be notified of any charges in relation to your request as soon as
possible, before we process any requested documents or impose a final
charge.

 

Please note that information released under the FOI Act may later be
published online on our disclosure log, subject to certain exceptions.
(For example, personal information will not be published where this would
be unreasonable.)
