Good afternoon
Thank you for your email of 15 September 2024 requesting access to
documents held by the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional
Development, Communications and the Arts (the Department) under the
Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act).
A list of the 21 currently operating leased federal airports on
Commonwealth land is available on the Department's [1]Airports webpage.
The Airports branch has advised that all of these airports remain federal
land, granted on long-term leases to private entities between 1997 and
2003. All federally leased airports are leased under the same form of land
tenure.
Under section 4 of the FOI Act, the definition of a ‘document’ which may
be subject to a request under the Act does not include “material
maintained for reference purposes that is otherwise publicly available.”
As this information is already available for public reference on the
Department’s website, we would like to propose that you withdraw this
request.
We would greatly appreciate if you could respond to this email by 27
September 2024 to confirm whether you are willing to withdraw this
request.
Kind regards
FOI Coordinator
