Coin operation Parking Meters - CBD
Dear City of Perth,
Can you advise if there are any documents or plans to move to a digital parking solution in the CBD?
I note that a number of short term parking options only allow you to pay with 20c, 10c, or $1 pieces. How many complaints has the City received in relation to the inability to pay via other methods (such as digital wallets, NFC cards, or Apps)?
Yours faithfully,
Ben Fairless

Dear Mr Fairless
Thank you for your enquiry regarding digital parking solutions within the
City of Perth.
City of Perth Parking (CPP) have very few "pay by coin" only payment
meters left in the city and we are constantly evaluating the hardware we
have available to our customers.
Recently, in place of the older style coin only options, we have installed
a number of "pay by space" ticketless machines, which are very
environmentally friendly as there are no inks or paper used. Pay by space
meters have multiple payment options and accept coins, CPP Parking card,
credit card and tap and go. All ticket machines have also recently been
upgraded to accept 'tap and go' transactions.
We trust you find this information of value and thank you once again for
your interest.
Yours sincerely

Dear Mr Fairless
Thank you for your email dated 15th November, 2016.
Howard Street has not been recognised for upgrade to 'pay by space'
parking meters at this time.
This and other side streets off St Georges Terrace may be upgraded at some
time in the future.
We trust this information is of assistance.
Yours sincerely
