Chief Scientist Ralph Slatyer's investigation into suitable locations for the storage of nuclear waste (1991)
Dear Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation FoI Officers,
I am writing to request an electronic copy of the results (most likely in the form of a report) of an investigation involving Australia's Chief Scientist Ralph Slatyer circa 1991, on the direction of Prime Minister Robert (Bob) Hawke and relevant to your agency.
In the press conference linked below given in 2015, Hawke mentioned this work, stating "In my last final period as prime minister, I had a world economic group of geologists and experts commissioned to find out where are the world’s safest remote sites for storage of waste".

I am sorry to say that I don't know who the co-authors of this work were nor do I know the names of any documents or reports produced. Nevertheless, I am hopeful that a copy (or copies) rest in ANSTO's archives.
If possible I wish to ask for the administrative release of these documents. Alternatively, if you deem it necessary, I am willing to request them under the Freedom of Information Act 1982.
Yours sincerely,
Dan Monceaux
Dear Mr Monceaux
I refer to your email below and note that I have checked the Government division and the ANSTO Library staff and we do not appear to have a copy of the report you have requested.
Also there does not appear to be any holdings in the Australian Libraries.
I recommend directing your enquiry to the Office of the Chief Scientist.
Kind regards
FOI Administration
