Charges vs diversion for low level drug offences since EDDI introduced

We're waiting for Will Tregoning to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear NSW Police Force,

I am writing to request data from the Early Drug Diversion Initiative (EDDI) which reportedly commenced on February 29, 2024.

The requested data is as follows:

(1) How many people have been diverted as part of the Early Drug Diversion Initiative (EDDI) by the NSW Police Force, from 29 February 2024 to October 31 2024?
(1a) Could you please provide a breakdown by drug type and by Indigenous status?
(1b) Could you please provide a breakdown by local area command?

(2) How many people in NSW have been charged with low-level drug possession, instead of being diverted via EDDI, from 29 February 2024 to October 31 2024?
(2a) Could you please provide a breakdown of drug type and Indigenous status?
(2b) Could you please provide a breakdown by local area command?

Yours faithfully,

Will Tregoning
