Change of backpacker taxes
Dear Australian Taxation Office,
I was wondering if you could direct me to or provide me with documents regarding the changed tax rules for working holiday travellers in Australia 2016.
I have already considered the released information on http://www.aph.gov.au/About_Parliament/P....
I am seeking governmental documents that will tell me what will happen to the working holiday- employees who's been working and paying tax in the country before these changes have been made, and still may be working under the old conditions. How this will affect them in the end of the financial year 2016 when it is time for them to reclaim their taxes for the year of 2015/16.
Any documents and information would be helpful.
Yours faithfully,
Siri Linde
Dear Ms Linde,
Thank you for your request made under the Freedom of Information Act 1982.
Please find enclosed my decision, which contains an explanation as to why the ATO does not have any relevant documents.

In my opinion this is a helpful and good reply from any agency. The officer has tried to understand the requrest and to provide useful information about the request. This is true even as the officer refuses the formal request under a relevant section of the Act.
