Dear Mr Gothe-Snape

Extension of time under s 15AB

On 30 October 2017, the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (the
Department) applied for further time to make a decision on your FOI
request of 31 August 2017.

This application was on the basis that the processing period is
insufficient to deal adequately with your request, because it is complex.

Decision

I have decided to grant the Department an extension of time to process
your request to 13 November 2017. This decision has been made under s
15AB(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth).

By granting further time it is anticipated that the Department will
provide a well-reasoned and better managed decision.

Thanks for following it up.

We're consulting with the Embassy of Israel regarding the possible release of the document. They have advised that they would need extra time to consult their government. As such, we sought a 14-day extension of time from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) today. The OAIC granted us the extension just now.

We will endeavour to notify you of the decision prior to the extended date (13 Nov 2017).

Apologise for the delay.
