Dear Bureau of Meteorology,
This is a Freedom of Information Request for the purposes of the Freedom of Information Act 1982.
I request access to the Style Guides/Brand Guides/Writing Guides currently used for the Bureau of Meteorology

Dear Alex Pentland,
1. We refer to your email dated 26 August 2023 (below) to the Bureau of
Meteorology ('the Bureau'), in which you request access to documents
under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) (‘FOI Act’). The
access request is for the following ('your request'):
o "access to the Style Guides/Brand Guides/Writing Guides currently used
for the Bureau of Meteorology"
2. We acknowledge receipt of your request.
Timeframe:
3. We received your request by email on 26 August 2023.
4. The FOI Act provides a 30-day statutory timeframe for dealing with
this request. This means a decision on your request is currently due
by Monday 25 September 2023.
Consent to remove material:
5. The Bureau also seeks your agreement to remove from any documents in
scope of your request the following:
a. the names (including any signatures or initials) and direct
contact details of non-senior officers of the Bureau (staff below
the General Manager level) and any third parties. We note that
position titles will generally be released;
b. the direct contact details of senior staff; and
c. duplicate copies of documents, including any email threads that
contain duplicated material.
Your response:
6. To enable the Bureau to continue processing your request promptly, we
would be grateful if you could respond to this email by close of
business Wednesday 13 September 2023 to advise whether you agree to:
a. The removal of names and direct contact details (discussed above
at paragraph [5]).
b. The removal of duplicate material (discussed above at paragraph
[5]).
7. The Bureau aims to provide accessible documents. If you need this
document in a different format, or if you have any questions about

In relation to your request, we hope to seek your agreement to extend the
time for dealing with your request.
Timeframe:
1. We received your request by email on 26 August 2023.
2. The FOI Act provides a 30-day statutory timeframe for dealing with
this request. This means a decision on your request is currently due
by Monday 25 September 2023.
3. The Bureau is currently dealing with a number of FOI matters, and we
seek your agreement, pursuant to s 15AA of the FOI Act, to extend the
time for dealing with your request. We propose 7 calendar days. This
means a decision would be due by 2 October 2023.

would be grateful if you could respond to this email by close of
business Thursday 21 September 2023 to advise whether you agree to the
extension of time (as noted above in paragraph 3).
