I refer to your request received by the Department of Agriculture, Water
and the Environment (department) on 7 January 2021 for access to documents
under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI) made in the following
terms:

Can I please have a pdf copy of the decision brief signed by the secretary
or delegate approving the Australian Meat and Live‑stock Industry
(Prohibition of Export of Sheep by Sea to Middle East—Northern Summer)
Order 2020?

If it was a delegate who signed the brief  can I also please have a copy
of the document delegating them the power to do so under the Act?

in the scope of a request, this may add to processing time and applicable
charges as it may be necessary to consider whether the details are exempt
under the FOI Act. On this basis, unless you tell us otherwise, we will
assume that these details are out of scope of your request and they will
be redacted under section 22 of the FOI Act.

The department is currently processing your FOI request for the following:

‘A pdf copy of the decision brief signed by the secretary or delegate approving the Australian Meat and Live stock Industry (Prohibition of Export of Sheep by Sea to Middle East—Northern Summer) Order 2020? The department is currently undertaking searches for documents related to your request. We note that there is one attachment to the decision brief which provides a list of meetings with over 25 stakeholders, and this document may require third party consultation with each of these stakeholders to process the FOI decision.

As such, we are seeking your views on whether you would be happy to agree to this particular attachment to the decision brief being considered out of scope of your FOI request.

We would be grateful for your response by COB Friday 22 January 2021.
