Dear DESE - FOI,
I'm just asking about the "Charge" section under the Signed Correspondents document
In the section, it states that "I have assessed the charge under regulation 10 of the Freedom of Information (Charges)Regulations 2019 and the cost of processing your request exceeded the amount estimated. Accordingly, I have fixed the charge under this provision. "
I am just asking for clarification. Does this mean I am liable to any additional charges because I haven't seen any specifics for what amount I would be additionally liable for? I also haven't seen any further withdrawal of fundsfrom my chosen choice of payment.
I apologise for the request for clarity, I am just asking to ensure I'm not leaving myself open for recourse or in violation of the FOI Act.
Yours sincerely,
Alex Pentland

Dear Alex
Thank you for your email.
I confirm that you are not liable to pay any further charges for the processing of your FOI request. The purpose of the 'Charge' section in the decision is to advise you that, in accordance with the Freedom of Information (Charges) Regulations 2019, after processing your request, I assessed the charge amount as estimated in the charge notice sent to you on 17 March 2022. I assessed that the cost of processing your request exceeded the amount estimated ($65.00). However, I have decided not to charge you the additional amount and, instead, I decided to fix the charge at $65.00 (the amount estimated and paid by you on 18 March 2022).
Accordingly, you are not required to pay any further charges for the processing of your FOI request.
Please don't hesitate to contact me via [email address] if you have any further questions.
