Act No. 38 of 2024 - assented/signed copy and documents submitted for Royal Assent

The request was successful.

Dear Office of Parliamentary Counsel,

Is it possible for OPC (and if necessary, other relevant offices if any such as the Office of the Official Secretary of the Governor-General) to provide the following on Act No. 38 of 2024, Administrative Review Tribunal (Consequential and Transitional Provisions No. 1) Act 2024?

I am looking for:

- A copy of the Act as passed with signature of the Royal Assent.

- Documents submitted to the Governor-General for royal assent to the Act (including the certificate from either the House of Representatives or the Senate, and the certificate signed by the Attorney-General recommending assent).

Thanks Yous!

Yours faithfully,

Tyler

Ref: T25/27
Freedom of information request no. 34-2025
"Act No. 38 of 2024 - assented/signed copy and documents submitted for Royal Assent"

Dear FOI Officer, OPC,

Thank you for your letter on 20 February 2025 which kindly provides the first and last pages of the assented copy of Act No. 38 of 2024, and the certificate from the Attorney-General (and a certificate from the First Parliamentary Counsel) on assent to the Act.

My FOI request of 28 January 2025 also includes "the certificate from either the House of Representatives or the Senate". It appears from the documents you provided that there would likely have been a certificate or letter issued by the Speaker to the Governor-General on the passage of the Bill which later became Act No. 38 of 2024.

OPC's past response to various FOI requests have included a copy of such certificate from the Speaker (when requested and if OPC had copy), such as Freedom of information request no. 33-2025 (ref: T25/26) ("Act No. 126 of 2015 - assented/signed copy and documents submitted for Royal Assent"). I would appreciate it greatly if OPC can confirm whether a copy of the following is available and may be provided:

- a certificate or letter issued by the Speaker to the Governor-General on the passage of the Bill which later became Act No. 38 of 2024

Thank yous!

Yours faithfully,

Tyler
