Classification/Occupancy or Final Inspection Certificate) and Building
Plans online.

to start thoroughly researching throughout our archiving records.

COPIES OF BUILDING PLANS AVAILABLE
o Commercial architectural plans ( Site, Floor and Elevation Plans) -
Apartment Blocks (Units), Community Living , Gated Community, Offices,
Factories, Shopping Centres, Hospital etc - $237.00 (Up to 25 pages)
- if over 25 pages a quotation will be provided -
o Commercial structural plans - $237.00 – (Up to 25 pages) if over 25
pages a quotation will be provided
o Residential, Original House architectural plans ( Site, Floor and
Elevation Plans) - $237.00
o Residential ,Original House structural plans - $237.00
o Additional Structures, carport, shed, patio, pool, rumps room,
ensuite, family accommodation plans or any additions - $237.00
o Soil / Engineers Report - NOT available prior to 1985 - $77.00 - Fees
and charges are non-refundable
o Site Plan Only - $53.00 - Fees and charges are non-refundable
o Other Documents may include - Form 16, floor plan Floor Only, Building
Decision Notice, Show Cause / Enforcement Notice – Type in the

o Building Compliance Report - Residential Classes 1 to 10 - $ 560.00
o Building Compliance Report – Commercial Classes 2 to 9 - $822.00
o Final Building Inspection Certificate (Form 21), Class 1 to 10 –
Residential property (House) - $133.00 per certificate
o Certificate of Classification/Occupancy (Form 11), Class 2 to 9 -
Commercial property - $133.00 per certificate

Pay fees online by credit card on submission. Please see the 'Building

Cancellation fees may vary depending on the progress of a requested
search. If you need to cancel a search, submit a request by email

o If you require a full set of building plans, please select
Architectural (site plan, floor plan, elevations) and Structural
(footing, slab, frame engineering design drawings) options.
o Where alterations or additions have been done to an existing building,
or new freestanding additions have been constructed on the property
such as a swimming pool, garage or shed, please select Additional
Structures and describe the structure.
o Please add further information in the Additional Notes box to help us
find the correct information (application numbers, whole complex,
Stage number, name of the complex, etc).
NOTE: If you are not the registered owner of the property and require a
copy of the floor plan/s of the building we require written consent of the
owner attached to your application. Please see the Owner’s Authority
information on the form.
TIMEFRAMES:
Residential requests (single houses, patios etc) 15 working days to
process,
Commercial requests (multi-unit dwellings, factory, office, shop) 25
business days to process
REFUND PROCESS
Customers must request a refund in writing, emailed into
[10][email address] a decision for a refund is made at
the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer.
We apply our refunds in accordance with the City’s Fees and Charges
Register, which is part of the City’s Revenue Statement, resolved as part
of Council’s budget process, and as required under the Local Government
Act 2009.
As a business unit we are bound by the conditions of refunding fees in our
Fees and Charges Register preamble –
Refund of Building Searches Fees are:
o A 100% refund if the building search application is cancelled on the
same day lodged.
o A 50% refund if the request for a refund was received prior to a
plans/documents have been provided.
o A 50% refund if the plans/documents requested are not available/found.
o Nil refund if the application has been fully researched/investigated
and analysed, populated, and the plans have been provided Applicant
o Non-refundable Search Requests are - Site Plans, Termite/ Pest
Treatment, Final Inspection, Other Documents, Soil / Engineers Report.
