RE: Noise Complaint: Cleaners Onsite
Categories:

Hi all
I wanted to advise of a development. I received a message reporting a similar noise complaint. After
speaking with the resident today, he advises the noise complaint he lodged directly with Stella Maris
College, is in fact, not related to the College. He has discovered the noise is from Harris Farm Markets. The
early morning timings of the disruption may be associated with their market deliveries.
Please confirm this matter is resolved from a Stel a Maris College perspective.
Regards
Ava

Hi Danii
1

Thank you for your email confirming the noise complaint. I have received a phone cal from a resident at 21
Eurobin and am assuming it may be the same person. I have left a voice message on their mobile.
In response:
The College has a container on our site at 270-278 Pittwater Road, Manly
Our cleaning team do not have a key, nor do they need to access this container unit. Our cleaners’
normal hours on grounds (during Term Time) is between 4:00pm – 9:00pm daily - unless there is a
late evening hireage of our Theatre at Eurobin Avenue.
Any items required from the container are managed by our Facilities Team whose normal hours of
operation are 7:00am – 5:00pm
There is no reason for College staff to be on grounds during the hours noted below and I can only
determine there could be intruders on grounds. I will have our Facilities Team check the area is secure for
any signs of intrusion.
Thanks
Ava

Dear Ava
Thank you so much for your time over the phone the other day.
As discussed, the Northern Beaches Council has received a noise complaint from a nearby resident.
They claim that the noise disturbance is coming from Stella Maris College where every day the cleaners of the
school get equipment from a container and make a lot of banging and scraping noises.
As of Thursday 16 January, the resident logged the times at which the noise was generated below:
Monday : 3.58am
Tuesday : 3.40am
Wednesday : 3: 49am
Thursday : 3.47am
Please review the hours in which your cleaners are onsite to confirm they are not the alleged source of noise
causing the nuisance to nearby residence. Council notes that the complainant references a container on the
school property where equipment is said to be taken from, please verify if a container is kept on school
grounds to help deduce the possible cause/source of the noise disturbance.
Thank you for your cooperation and we look forward to your reply.
Please ensure any returned emails are forwarded to xxxxxxx@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.xxx.xxx.xx and not
directly to this email address to ensure all correspondence is registered in Council’s Records
Management System. Emails directly to this email address may not be actioned in a timely manner.
Kind regards
