guidelines, frameworks or similar materials relating to the review,
handling, access, management, sharing or use of IGADF Afghanistan Inquiry
information ("Information Arrangements").

                2. Documents recording, relating to, or commenting on any
breaches or contraventions of any above Information Arrangements.

                3. A copy of the CDPP's Prosecution Policy, including the
“two stage test”.

                4. Materials recording the assessment of briefs referred
to the CDPP in relation to war crimes.

Could you please indicate whether you are making your request for the
purposes of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) (FOI Act), or by way
of an administrative request?

Section 15 of the FOI Act provides that one of the requirements for a
request under the FOI Act is that “the request must:…..(aa) state that the
request is an application for the purposes of tis Act;” [s 15(2)]

The CDPP has begun processing your request.

I refer to your FOI request dated 8 July 2024 to the Office of the
Director of Public Prosecutions (Cth) (CDPP).

The CDPP’s decision maker currently has 30 days to answer your request and
their decision is due 7 August 2024.

I am writing to request your agreement to an extension of time pursuant to
section 15AA of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) to respond to
your FOI request.

The CDPP needed to consult with other Commonwealth agencies and requires
further time to process your request. 

We would be most grateful if you would agree to an extension of 8 days, to
15 August 2024 to enable us to finalise your request.

I look forward to hearing from you by return email if possible.

If you are agreeable to the extension the CDPP is required under the FOI
Act to give written notice of the extension to the Information
Commissioner as soon as practicable after the agreement is made.
