202021-055 – Teague – Internal review
On 16 July 2021 the ABC received a request for an internal review of our original decision made 16 July 2021 to refuse access to documents that answer the scope of the FOI request.
Due to recent changes in staffing in the FOI team, we have unfortunately not made the internal review decision within 30 days, and it is currently a deemed affirmation of the original decision to refuse access to the documents in full.
On 13 August 2021 the internal reviewer advised the applicant by email that she anticipated providing the internal review decision by 30 August. The applicant did not respond to the email.
There are a number of documents that apply to the scope of this request and there has been some delay in receiving relevant information from line areas when commencing the internal review of these documents. We now have the necessary information to perform the internal review however require further time to process it.
Would you kindly advise whether the Information Commissioner agrees to an extension of time, under s 54D(3), to provide the internal review decision by Thursday 9 September 2021?
