3.  How many spouses of officials also have access to either lounge (I’m not asking for 
names on this question, just numbers)?   
 
Answer: 
 
1.  At 20 November 2024, 90 Defence personnel have declared Qantas Chairman’s Lounge 
Memberships. 
a.  Qantas Chairman’s Lounge Memberships for the Secretary, the Chief of the 
Defence Force, and all Senior Executive Service Band 3/3 Star equivalent 
personnel are publicly disclosed via the Defence Gifts and Benefits Register. 
2.  At 20 November 2024, 17 Defence personnel have declared Virgin Australia Beyond 
Lounge Memberships. 
a.  Virgin Australia Beyond Lounge Memberships for the Secretary, the Chief of the 
Defence Force, and all Senior Executive Service Band 3/3 star equivalent personnel 
are publicly disclosed via the Defence Gifts and Benefits Register. 
3.  At 20 November 2024, Defence personnel have, on behalf of their spouses or immediate 
family members, declared that: 
a.  14 spouses (or immediate family) have access to the Qantas Chairman’s Lounge; 
b.  four spouses (or immediate family) have access to the Virgin Australian Beyond 
Lounge; and 
c.  three spouses (or immediate family) have access to both lounges.
