Dear Mr Harborow
Your Freedom of Information request - decision
I refer to your request, received by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations
(department) on 24 December 2024, for access under the
Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) to the fol owing documents:
“… a copy of the draft VET Information Standard being developed in connection with
the department's VET Data Streamlining initiative.
To provide context, NCVER advises that "the Commonwealth and state and territory
governments have approved the new VET Information Standard which wil replace
the AVETMISS 8.0 VET Provider Col ection. The new standard is a cornerstone of the
VET Data Streamlining (VDS) initiative and wil be progressively implemented, with
the sector fully transitioned by December 31, 2028." …
Where multiple versions of the draft Standard are identified as being responsive, the
approved version referred to above or a more recent draft would satisfy this
request.”
My decision
I am authorised to make decisions under section 23(1) of the FOI Act.
On 6 January 2025, the department advised you that it would consult with certain third
parties because the requested documents contain information the third parties might
reasonably wish to contend should not be disclosed. This extended the statutory processing
period by 30 days, in accordance with section 15(6)(a) of the FOI Act.
The department holds 2 documents (total ing 22 pages) that fal within the scope of your
request. I have decided to grant you
access in ful to the documents.
A schedule of the documents for release is at
Attachment A.
