Direct interest under
At the briefing this week, Ian Scholes raised the Twist Creek
section 77B of the Local
planning zone amendment and I have since reading the
Government Act.
agenda decided, with advice from Greg, that I have a conflict
of interest in this matter.
> In response to the increased interest in Yackandandah due
to the ABC Backroads show in early 2016, a few people met
to discuss how we could encourage appropriate
development in Yackandandah. When the Twist Creek Rd
land came up for sale, we paid for a report so that we could
look at blue sky thinking development, potentially with
Ausnet Services and NE Water. This was before I thought of
going on Council and since becoming a councillor there has
not been any other action. None-the-less, I was included in
the payment for the report and therefore have a conflict of
interest in terms of the planning amendment.
> I will be absenting myself from this vote and will raise my
conflict of interest at the briefing beforehand.
