On 30 October 2024, the Department of Home Affairs (the Department) received a request for
access to document under the
Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act).
The purpose of this letter is to provide you with a decision on your request for access under the
FOI Act.

Scope of request
You have requested access to the following document:
Under the FOI Act, I seek a list of the Ministerial Briefs provided by the department to the
office of Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke for the months of September and October
2024, including the PDR number, title and date the brief was provided to the minister’s
office. When it comes to the title of the brief, if the department would be required to
consult on the release of the title and that consultation would take longer than the 30 day
time limit set out in legislation to respond to this request, then the title of the brief can be
redacted to expedite this request. To further expedite this request, please exclude all
briefs in relation to visa/citizenship issues pertaining to an individual.

In accordance with section 17 of the FOI Act, the Department has used its computer system to
produce one document that contains information that falls within the scope of your request. The
data produced in the document existed in the possession of the Department on 30 October 2024
when your FOI request was received.
