The Vision CRC will address the major challenges of significant vision impairment and eye health issues by solving problems related to ocular and contact lens discomfort; elimination of presbyopia and cataract through the use of biocompatible implant materials for permanent vision correction; slowing the progress of myopia; improved skills and knowledge for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers; integrated models of vision care delivery for remote and indigenous communities, and development of an intelligent retinal camera for rapid detection of blinding eye disease.
