Tasmanian Public Heath Service
Public Health Services works to protect Tasmanians from public and environmental health hazards, prevent and reduce chronic (long-term) conditions at the population level and help people achieve their best possible health. It assesses and manages public health risks including environmental health, radiation protection and communicable diseases. It monitors the health status of Tasmanians to help inform decision-making and health priorities. Public Health Services sets polices and delivers or funds programs that aim to improve rates of physical activity and good nutrition, ensure healthy environments, and reduce the harms from tobacco.
