Queensland Local Government Change Commission
Commissions are established from time to time to assess whether a proposed local government change is in the public interest, eg a change to the boundaries of a local government area, the number of councillors for a local government, the name of a local government area. Commissions are made up of the Electoral Commissioner or any combination of the Electoral Commissioner, Deputy Electoral Commissioner, Casual Commissioners (as nominated by the Electoral Commissioner). There is a panel of Casual Commissioners that the Electoral Commissioner can draw from.
