Public Trustee (Tasmania)
The Public Trustee was originally established in 1915 to act on behalf of the Tasmanian people as an independent and impartial organisation under the Government Business Enterprises Act 1995. The Public Trustee prepares Wills and Enduring Power of Attorney; Acts as Executor; Acts as Administrator when a person dies without a Will; Acts as Attorney when appointed by an Enduring Power of Attorney; Acts as Trustee for various types of trusts including accident compensation awards; Assists people to manage their financial affairs when the Public Trustee has been appointed as Administrator by the Guardianship and Administration Board.
