Responsible for public health protection in the ACT, including minimising the impact of communicable diseases, developing immunisation policies and investigating health complaints relating to public premises such as restaurants, swimming pools, boarding houses and skin penetration facilities. The service comprises the ACT Government Analytical Laboratory, Communicable Diseases Control, Immunisation, Pharmaceutical Services, Radiation Safety and Environmental Health.
