Dear Colleagues
I hope this finds you well. I am writing to provide an update on the IP negotiations, including a preview of the IP
agenda for the 15th round in Auckland NZ, which will be held from 3-12 December 2012.

Our NZ colleagues have just circulated a draft schedule for Auckland as follows:

Regarding preparations for Auckland, I am aiming to circulate requests for briefing by the end of this week (as I will
be on leave from 29 October until 13 November). Also, in the lead up to Auckland, OTN is planning stakeholder
consultation sessions in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney on 14, 15 and 16 November, respectively. IP is one of the
areas that will be covered, along with Services, Financial Services and Investment. Lead negotiators will attend with

and/or
S47F(1)
If your agency is interested in attending please let me know and I can
provide more details. I’d also be grateful for an indication of whether it’s likely someone from your agency will
attend the Auckland round.
Finally, a big thank you for your ongoing assistance with intersessional work and at rounds. I know budgets are tight
and we’re all operating with diminished resources. I’ll do my best to send requests through as soon as I can and
